A:Depends who you are proposing to. Banks, venture capitalists, investers, partners, government offshoots all look for different things. I once gave a bank manager a costed, timed marketing plan for a project and got back a "not in the format we require" letter. Sent back the figures on a cashflow form, he was like a child in a sand pit, though the cashflow was a lot less informative than the cashflow forecast. Try not to fall into the: "no need to worry about funds to pay Paul as Peter will pay in time to cover Paul's bill" trap. The banks encourage this tightrope thinking and I believe are responsible for a lot of problems. |
