Help Building Website Traffic

Q:www.cinnominmarketing.com I have this website that I have been working on since April this year. I just started to get links this month, but I do not see the traffic that I would like to see. Any suggestions?

A:My initial impression is that you just have a few pages that come from the GRQ (get rich quick) schemes you see all over the place on the Internet. You have health supplements, MLM's and some kind of ad for government seized property -- each of which raise an eyebrow. Try to find one area in which you have a lot of knowledge and interest, that is valuable to others, and provide that product or service. In the meantime, check out the local library for books like, "101 businesses you can run at home" and so forth. Paul and Sara Edwards have put out some good books that are along this line. Be careful to not to waste time with magazines who's "home business articles" are nothing more than ads. As far as herbalife is considered, in and of itself, it is a network marketing operation IIRC. I think you'd be better off running a regular business. Check out the Paul & Sara Edwards books. See if there is a Small Business Development Center in your area. Also, look into night school classes in marketing. I suggest getting out of the scam business and look for a legitimate way to make money. After all, didn't the founder of Herbalife drop dead at a very young age a few years ago when stepping out of his LA area condo and going out for a walk? If it killed the founder, do you really want to be selling that kind of snake oil? 1. E-mail marketing through a service such as http://www.streamsend.com or get a bundled package (hosting/streamsend and the Adwords credit) which is a better deal such as http://www.ezpublishing.com/business/hosting. 2. Start using Adwords (http://adwords.google.com). Even if you just try it at a very small budget at first you can at least experiment with it to see if you can bring in some leads and some sales. 3. You might want to consider some sort of direct mail campaigns using http://www.infousa.com. You would most likely have to produce a graphically appealing post card or something which would cost you some money, unless you yourself are a graphical designer? 4. Sell more to your current customers using tools like StreamSend. 5. Get referrals from your current customers, perhaps offering some sort of incentive? Again, tools such as StreamSend can be useful here. However, nothing beats a good old fashioned phone call! The telephone is still a VERY powerful business tool if used well.
