If your new business is offering a new product or service, a press release is the best ways of letting people know about it. Even if the product or service is already available in the area you can formulate the press release on the quality of your product and competitive rates which are being offered. The press release should contain detailed information about the new business, as to how it was started and who is the main person behind the venture, his qualifications, expertise and so on. The press release is a way to let people know something about the new business and to build some sort of credibility and trust.

Usually when you read something in the paper which is not an advertisement you take it at its face value and hardly anybody disbelieves it. This makes a new business press release a very powerful tool by which you are promoting your new venture. The press release is taken as a piece of news and not generally considered a ploy to promote something. This makes the content of your press release all the more important. The press release should be written in a matter of fact way as though you are reporting some event and do not be too eager to put in any statements which look as though you are trying to promote something. The news of the press release itself will take care of that, as when people read news they are looking for exactly that.

Editors of newspapers will also not want to print something which can be construed as promotional. The new business press release should be written with the focus on the story and reporting the same to the reader, rather than a promotion of your business. Laying stress on promotional sentences, your press release will not find much appeal with either the press or the readers.
