Thanks to modern technology, there are a number of different ways to make a Capital One credit card payment. These numerous options in making a Capital One credit card payment make it a lot easier to get a payment to the credit card company on time, eliminating the concern of a late payment fee.
Capital One credit card payment statements normally get to the consumer about three weeks ahead of the payment date, giving them a fair amount of time to review the statement and make a payment. If the consumer is pressed for time, however, there are a number of different ways to make sure the payment gets to Capital One on time.
The first option is to make a payment by telephone. You can call Capital One at the toll free number listed on the back of the credit card and select the option of making a payment. In order to make a payment by telephone, you will need your credit card and the number of your checking or savings account. The phone system will then give you the option of paying the minimum amount or the total of your choice. They will then prompt you to enter the checking or savings account number. Making a telephone payment is immediate, but also requires the consumer to pay a service charge.
Another option is to pay online. Capital One allows account holders to make a payment through their Web site, www.capitalone.com, as long as they have their credit card number and other required information to set up an account on the site. The card holder will also need a checking or savings account number to make a payment, which is immediate and does not include a convenience charge. A receipt of the transaction will then be sent to the user’s E-mail account.
If a credit card user has an online banking account through another institution, they can also make a Capital One credit card payment using this method. The card holder can make a payment in any amount they want, once they have put in the proper credit card account number and the address of the recipient. The payment may take as long as two days to be processed, however, so the card holder should use caution.
Of course, the card holder can use the classic method of sending in a payment through the mail with a check. This tried and true method is still happily accepted, but card holders should remember that the process is a lot slower than the other methods. Payment should be sent a week to 10 days ahead of time. |
