Credit Cards Deal

Everyone who is interested in obtaining a credit card should learn how to find the best credit card deals. Ideally, credit card deals are plentiful for those who have a good to excellent credit rating, with a FICO score of at least 660. If you do not know your FICO score, your first step is to find out that information. You can write or call the credit agencies, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. They will provide your credit report and your FICO score for a fee. Each company charges a different fee, so be sure to inquire about the fee and be ready to remit payment with your request for your credit information. This would also be a good time to inspect each report for any errors and have them corrected or removed. This is accomplished by submitting your request in writing.

There are many web sites that have a tool that allows you perform side-by-side comparisons of various credit offers. When comparing credit deals, pay attention to the interest rate. Check to see if they offer a grace period, which allows you to pay the balance in full by the due date without an interest charge. You can negotiate with the credit card company to have your current interest rate lowered. Do not try to negotiate with credit card companies that are co-branded with airlines or hotels because they will not negotiate on the fees charged. Also compare the other fees, such as annual fees and late fees. Some companies will charge a late fee even if they process your payment an hour late. You can negotiate to have late fees and annual fees cancelled. Compare the method used to calculate the finance charge. The adjusted balance method is most advantageous for a cardholder because you are only charged interest on a portion of your balance. Compare the perks that are offered with the cards. Some companies offer frequent flyer programs, cash back programs, and rewards programs. Choose the perks that would most fit your lifestyle.

Even those who have less than perfect credit can find credit card deals. While credit cards for damaged credit has a higher interest rate and more fees, you can still compare those cards and choose the one that offers the lowest rate with a grace period and the lowest annual, membership, late fees, and any other fees that are charged.
