You probably know that the financial crisis “was born” in the United States and later, it spread all over the world. Unfortunately, the economics of US was the most effected one by the crisis and it was like a slap in the face for many finance mangers and analyzers. Funny or not, the financial crisis caused an extremely high rate of unemployment exactly among the financiers and that rate reached 18%, which is a record!
Fortunately, things are already getting better and we can even see that in some states there is a demand of well-qualified fresh blood of financiers. One of those states is New Jersey where the rate of unemployment among the financiers is gradually decreasing. As it was said, there are even a lot of companies which are looking forward to extending the number of the finance managers, finance analyzers and finance accountants working for them.
But if you would like to be one of the lucky guys which will be hired and will get the chance of working a job related to the subject which they got a degree of, then you will need to follow some tips.
Firstly, you should attach your degree to your CV (curriculum vitae). You may not believe it but the master’s degree is one of the main factors determining whether a person will be employed or not. If you do not have a master’s degree but only a bachelor’s one, then you just do not need to waste your time because you will certainly not be the lucky one. Sorry for saying it but there are so many young unemployed financiers who got a master’s finance degree that it is doubtful there is an employer who will prefer you, the less qualified one!
Of course, you should know that the master’s finance degree is not everything and it does not provide you with the job for sure. The reason is still the same- there are many unemployed young financiers having a master’s degree which decreases your chance of being the selected one! That is why you should pay some serious attention to your CV and cover letter- make sure that you have included all skills you have and all areas in which you are competent.
Basically, that was everything which you need to know about applying for the position of financier in New Jersey. Knowing the New Jersey employers’ attitude, I can assure you that those will be the main factors which will determine their decision. |
