Vehicle finance check is the checking of the vehicle before it is actually bought. The check is generally done by people who are giving finance for the particular vehicle. The check is done to find out whether the car is legal or not, whether it has been stolen or does it belong to someone else, are the papers related to the vehicle in tact or not. This is done basically to ensure the safety of both the lender and the buyer before the deal. The following are some of the things which must be looked into during the vehicle checks:
1. The year of manufacture is what has to be ascertained.
2. The date on which the vehicle was first registered.
3. What is the capacity of the engine? How much will it be able to give in the future?
4. The color of the car.
5. The insurance papers, the tax papers, the registration papers are all looked into during the check.
6. The physical condition of the vehicle. Are there any dents or bumps in the car? How many accidents has the car gone through in the past and how much has been spent on the resurrection of the car.
7. Has the car been financed before and are there any arrears on that side. That is very important because if not looked into, then you might actually end up paying for that.
After having done the car check, there would be a report actually presented by the vehicle checking party. The report would consist of the following things:
On the top, there would be the name of the car and immediately following below would be details like whether the car is stolen or not, is the car at a high risk of being stolen or not, are all the insurance papers up to date or not. There would be a small check box besides these point and if all of these conditions are met then there would be a small tick mark, if not there would be a cross mark. Then after that we would have the insurance and registration details followed by the details of the car. The details are the make of the car, the model of the car, the transmission and fuel type, the body type and engine number, the color, the number of gears, the engine capacity, the date of registration and the date of manufacture, etc. There would also be the mileage details and the finance details of the car. |
