Gold Etf Funds

ETF stands for Exchange Traded Funds; the gold exchange traded funds are sometimes referred to as GETF as well. The basic aim of Gold ETF Funds is to keep an eye on the fluctuating price of gold in the gold market. Normally GETF is traded in major stock exchanges of India, Switzerland, England, France and United States. According to the recent survey of the year 2009 (October), GETF had up to 1,750 tons of Gold, which was held only for the private investors. There are some closed end funds as well which are CEF and ETN and there main purpose is to keep the track of Gold price.

The GETF funds were firstly introduced in the year 2003 (March) and was aimed to do funding to the investors who invests money in gold in the form of certificates. GETF funds give you the guarantee of refunding of your money when you sell your GETF certificate in the market. It can be sold universally in any gold market, and is done for the immediate funding when you are in a dire hard of money or when you think it’s the right time to sell your GETF certificate when the gold prices reaches the sky! However refunding your money in exchange of your Gold ETF funds should be considered in the end when the gold market is halted at a single spot and there is a chance that it will drop greatly, however these are the things which are expected as least as it has been rarely seen that gold prices have fallen.

The best thing about keeping Gold ETF certificate is that you can buy as much gold as you want with the help of the GETF certificate without worrying about its place of storage. You just have to keep that certificate on the safe spot. This certificate makes your gold free from every kind of tension, especially the tension of theft and burglary.

This scheme of gold certificates was firstly launched by the Street Tracks Gold shares, which is also the prime holder of such funds. Street Tracks have recently switched to a much larger vault than the previous one. Currently Street Tracks have about 584 tons of Gold in their vault which is worth up to 18 billion dollars!

So whenever you plan to buy GETF certificate, always make sure that you are buying it from the recognized place, as there are great number of scammers in the market who sell fake GETF certificate and when it comes the time for refunding of your money, they simply run away with your gold funding that you have invested in GETF certificates.
