Ahead Of Itself - An ahead of itself is a phrase or expression that indicated that a security has been overbought or undersold. This usually refers to the following example. Let's say the actual value of the company happens to be about ten dollars, yet the shares for that same company are trading at around fifteen dollars, then the stock that is trading at a higher price than the companies intrinsic value, would be considered to be oversold, also called ahead of itself. Usually, this expression is only used when referring to listed securities, which appear on the stock market and are available for public trading. |
