Air Pocket Stock

Air Pocket Stock - An air pocket stock occurs when an action takes place that causes the stock market to fall unexpectedly. Usually this action is stimulated by an unexpected drop in a stock price on the market and generally happens after the shareholder have been given the disappointing and sometime shocking news about the company. This air pocket stock is called this because it is like hitting an air pocket when you are cruising along in a jumbo jet. First the air is there to hold you up, then poof it is gone, and you drop like a rock, hence the term air pocket. Unfortunately, sometimes stocks do the same thing for no apparent reason.
