Breakaway gap - The breakaway gap is considered a gap in the moving price of a specific security, which generally happens just before there is a significant new trend that takes place in the stock market or stock exchange. Stocks and securities are charted in most stock markets and exchanges; therefore when looking at the stock or securities' chart you can watch the movement that takes place on a specific stock or security. The breakaway gap is the gap that takes place in the price of the specific stock or security that results in a shift to the bullish or bearish price change.
