Don't fight The Tape

Don't fight The Tape - don't fight the tape is an expression and advice to an investor. It is suggesting (and giving advice) not to go against a trend. The tape is the stock market ticker tape and watching the trend is advisable. So the term don't fight the tape is implying not to do anything risky, to stay the course, and to watch and see example. It's not advisable (or don't fight the tape) to sell a stock if it has a trend of rising for a long period of time. It merely is indicating not to make any aggressive trades at this time.
