Short-term Investment Fund

Short-term Investment Fund The purpose of this type of fund is to gain a return in a relatively short period of time. This is accomplished through a series of low risk investments that are more or less guaranteed to provide a certain level of return over a short period of time. This includes investments in things like notes and short term debt, that will give a payout very soon to the investor. This type of investment is also meant to protect the capital that has been invested, since the investor does not want to wait around for the investment to mature to its full return.
