Story Stock

Story stock - A story stock is called so because there is some important news story about the company that will cause a movement of the stock of that company. The movement will be upward because of the company and its story. The stock movement is not driven by the actually value of the stock which is normally the case, instead it is based upon the news release and the favorable conditions presented by the press release. For example, a bio chemical company may have just announced that they are soon to receive quick favorable test results for treatment of an illness and this becomes the driving force behind the rising stock price.
