Volume

Definition: The number of shares of a particular stock that is traded in a given period of time.  "Daily volume" would be the number of shares traded in one day.

TeenAnalyst Advice: A company's volume is a tell-tale sign of what's going on.  If a company has a day where its volume is considerably higher than its average daily volume, it's likely that some news came out that affected the stock.

Also, we recommend avoiding stocks with small volumes, because they're hard to get into and out of.

Often companies use Vloume Times Daily Price. Other wise a 10 cent share would have ten times the Volume compare to $1 share. In that case what would you call that? Is it still the Volume or What?
