World Fund When a mutual fund decides to invest in stocks and bonds that are located all over the world, it is a world fund. This is a little different from an international fund because these stocks and bonds can still be located within the United States. These funds provide excellent opportunities for diversification because there are so many different regions and sectors that can be invested in. With that being said, unstable currencies and political situations in other countries can make this a very risky proposition at times. If another country's economy collapses, it can provide major problems for people who have invested in anything in those countries.
