126 Free Stock Information

In many instances, you can get free stock advice right from the internet. But with anything that is free, there is often a flip side. In this case, the problem is that free stock advice is often worth what you pay for it--zero. Unfortunately, it might also cause you to lose money.

One notable exception to this comes from the United States government. All companies, both domestic and foreign, must file things like periodic reports, registration statements, and other paperwork through the Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database .

Anyone may get to and download this information for free by visiting the government's website Run a search for the government and EDGAR and you'll find the link you need. Once you are in, anyone can find and print out any of the information that you want.

If free stock tips on commercial businesses is what you need, please take into account what the person who gave you the tip has in mind for a reward. Many websites that claim to offer free stock advice are actually just trying to sell you something. In some cases, they will do this worthwhile and fabulous service and even help you by giving stock tips as a way to prove to people that they are on the up and up and have the ability to help.

But there's a dark side to all of this--some companies give away this free advice but for shady reasons. For example, they might be showing everyone the same stock data because they are hoping to sell it. Or they could be hoping to sell you the stock directly. It's possible too that they are trying to get you to pay for their overpriced services.

Keeping all of this in mind, there are some websites that do give you honest and free information on investing and stocks. You just have to be careful where you get it. For example, be wary of where the information is coming from on investing and check out the claims anyone makes before going any further.

Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft all typically provide you with free stock information. They all offer similar tools that will help you decide what you need. Try visiting all three to see which one you like best.
