News Corp Stock Pick

Every morning, millions of Americans read a copy of their local newspaper or watch the morning news. The media plays a big influence in our lives and has been a major tool in keeping us informed. Right in the middle of all of this information stands News Corporation.

News Corp is a huge player in the print media industry. They are not only one of the largest English-language newspaper publishers, but they also own a dozen or so magazines, numerous TV stations and film companies, and even a few book publishers.

News Corp has done something extraordinary: they've positioned themselves so that nearly every person in the world buys, reads, or watches one of their products. Not many other companies can claim that kind of reach. This reach has propelled the company to its current value of $50 billion.

We chose to include News Corp in the Young30 index because most teenagers watch TV and read books and magazines. I, myself, am known to enjoy a good episode of The Simpsons which is made by Fox, just one of the many subsidiaries of News Corp.
