An income tax exemption is some part of income that is considered as exempt from being taxed. There are income tax exemptions established by both state and federal governments. Many income tax exemptions are pre figured by both state and federal tax forms. Such income tax exemptions are adjusted each year. That is because they take into account changes in what legislation determines in the taxes due on income. This term is most often associated with individuals and will include such things that the state and federal government has decided are not taxable, which will vary by each governing agency.
