Irs Filing Income Tax

Filing your income tax with the IRS is actually quite an easy process. Many people seem to be very perplexed as to how to file their taxes with the IRS bur once they actually sit down to do it things go very quickly.

The very first thing you need to do when getting ready to file your taxes is to make sure you have al of your W-2 statements from any employers you have had during that year, also know about any sums you have in bank accounts and how much interest you earn. Also make sure you have just your general information such as your social security number and address.

Now, go ahead and find out which tax form you need. Most people need a simple 1040. If you don't know which form you need simply contact the IRS or a tax professional and they will be able to help you. You can go online to find these forms and print them for free. If you do not have a printer you can contact the IRS and they will send you forms for free by mail.

Next get yourself a pen and fill in all of your personal information. They need your name address, previous addresses, social security number, age, just general questions to they can make sure to file the taxes you turn in as your taxes not someone else's.

What I like to do for the rest is to use a pencil. This way if you mess up you can go back and fix it. However, make sure that before you turn it in to the IRS to go over it in pen and make yourself a copy to keep for your records. Filling in your taxes is actually quite easy. Each box tells you what you need to put into it. For a few boxes there are little worksheets that you will use to determine the number that you need to put in the box. Mainly these are ones that have to do with how much income and expenses you had. Basically you will put in how much you made that year and how much you spent.

In the end as long as you follow the directions right on the form you won't have any issues. However, if you do have issues, ask a friend, the IRS, or a tax professional for help.
