You have to check received alimonies too with bank statements. Your business or farming income comes with books/accounting records, billings and invoices, payroll records, expenditure checks and bank statements. Other than these details, you have to check major purchases such as machineries, furniture and equipment, vehicle mileages and records of inventories, if any.

If your home is the office, then you have to file square footage of the office as well as the total square footage of the house. If you have rented the house, you have to file the rent. Form 1088 for mortgage, tax payments for properties, payments for homeowner insurance, repairs and maintenance charges and utility bills also must be areas for checking.

Distribution for Pension/IRA has to be checked with Form 1099-R. Income from Rental Property should be checked with profit and loss statement from properties, expenses check book as well as cancelled checks, Form 1099-MISC for rental income, interest rate reports on mortgage, tax payments with assessor's bill and suspended rental losses record. If you are unemployed, you have to fill Form 1099 and check stubs and deposit details for unemployment status.

Social security benefits has to be filed on Form SSA-1099, property selling income, Miscellaneous income, income adjustment statements such as student loan, Medicare saving account revenue, expenses due to moving, health insurance on self employment and pensions plans on self employment are also on the check list.

Tax deductions credit and itemized child tax payments, cost of caring of children and cost for their education, adoption fees, interests, any donations, casualties, miscellaneous deductions, job expenses, medical and dental expenditure, real estate taxes, taxes for personal properties, direct saving information, foreign savings details, expenses on environmental friendly energy fixtures, etc., are also vital points when filling tax preparation forms.
